Walang Hanggan Finale Creates a New Record, Beats Mara Clara's 43.4%

ABS-CBN’s phenomenal TV drama “Walang Hanggan,” topbilled by Richard Gomez, Dawn Zulueta, Susan Roces, Helen Gamboa, Melissa Ricks, Joem Bascon, Paulo Avelino, Julia Montes, and Coco Martin, recently ended on a high note as its finale soared high in the ratings game and dominated the worldwide trending topics on Twitter.

Based on the latest data of Kantar Media last Friday (October 26), ABS-CBN’s top-rating drama series garnered 45.4% national TV ratings, or more than 29 points ahead versus the farewell episode of its rival program in GMA “Luna Blanca” which only got 16.1%.

“Walang Hanggan” also beat the record-breaking finale episode of Mara Clara in June 2011 which got a TV rating of 43.4% nationwide, the highest finale rating ever attained of a teleserye in the new decade before “Walang Hanggan.”

Aside from winning the ratings game, “Walang Hanggan” also conquered the popular microblogging site Twitter as hashtags #WalangHangganFinale, Katerina, Paulo Avelino, and RIP Daniel became worldwide trending topics due to the numerous tweets of TV viewers about the touching scenes of Daniel (Coco) and Katerina’s (Julia) deaths. The Twitter timeline was flooded with positive tweets like: “@LoveAprille: Congrats to the cast and crew for the #WalangHangganFinale! We stayed up in Sydney just to watch it! You all did an amazing job;” “@JelaiSalomeo: It was my first time to witness a happily ever after. It wasn’t good. Completing the powerhouse cast of “Walang Hanggan” are top-caliber actors including Nonie Buencamino, Ogie Diaz, Arlene Muhlach, Eda Nolan, John Medina, Shamaine Buencamino, Josh Ivan Morales, Valerie Concepcion, Dante Rivero, Richard Yap, and Eula Valdes. It was under the direction of Jerry Lopez Sineneng and Trina Dayrit.

The timeslot left by “Walang Hanggan” was taken oven by “Ina Kapatid Anak,” which now airs after “Princess and I.”

An estimated 15,000 screaming fans recently filled Smart Araneta Coliseum for the grand ‘Walang Hanggang Pasasalamat’ thanksgiving concert of ABS-CBN’s phenomenal TV drama “Walang Hanggan.”

Leading the celebration are the series’ lead stars namely Richard Gomez, Dawn Zulueta, Helen Gamboa, Susan Roces, Melissa Ricks, Joem Bascon, Paulo Avelino, Julia Montes, and Coco Martin. Completing the powerhouse cast are top-caliber actors who became a huge part of the ten-month phenomenal sucess of the show including Nonie Buencamino, Ogie Diaz, Arlene Muhlach, Eda Nolan, John Medina, Shamaine Buencamino, Josh Ivan Morales, Valerie Concepcion, Dante Rivero, Richard Yap, and Eula Valdes.

Actress Dawn Zulueta agreed to get a kiss from Walang Hanggan leading man Richard Gomez as thousand of fans requested their idols for some "kilig" moments at the "Walang Hanggang Pasasalamat Concert" at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Sunday night, October 21.

Before taking the kiss from Richard, Dawn, who's now married to Davao del Norte Rep. Anton Lagdameo Jr. repeteadly said "Smack lang ito, smack lang ito." In previous interview, Dawn Zulueta said that  it was her decision not to do a kissing scene with Richard Gomez out of respect for her husband and the actor's wife, Ormoc Rep. Lucy Torres.  The  actress finally agreed to kiss Richard again for the wedding and honeymoon scenes of their characters Emily and Marco last September 27.

ABS-CBN reportedly spent P3.2 million (about half a million for the Cymbidum orchids adorning the aisle) for the grand union of Daniel and Katerina which is one of the highlights of the show's last 2 weeks. The scene was taped last October 8.

Video: Walang Hanggan Stars for OMB's "Bawal Kumopya" Campaign

Philippine Optical Media Board (OMB) recently partnered with ABS-CBN’s The Filipino Channel (TFC) for an awareness campaign on anti-piracy.  

Aligning with OMB Chairman Ronnie Ricketts’ battlecry of “Bawal Kumopya” (literally translated as “Copying is prohibited”), TFC tapped the cast of its top-rating primetime teleserye, “Walang Hanggan”, who willingly gave their time and effort to the production of the “Bawal Kumopya” public service announcement.

Coco Martin, Richard Gomez, Dawn Zulueta, Julia Montes, Paulo Avelino and Joem Bascon all joined hands (and crossed their arms) in a united front for the war against piracy.

The “Bawal Kumopya” PSA was launched at the One Kapamilya Go sa California’s Great America held last September 16. The campaign has aired globally on TFC and will be rolled out in various TFC events around the world.

Dawn Zulueta Hailed as Most Beautiful Pinay for 2012, 100 Most Beautiful Women List Revealed

Walang Hanggan star Dawn Zulueta was hailed as the 'Most Beautiful Pinay for 2012' by the country's number 1 entertainment blog, Starmometer. Dawn Zulueta topped the website's poll on the "100 Most Beautiful Women in the Philippines for 2012" garnering a phenomenal  129,863  total votes from Facebook Twitter. The #DawnZuluetaMostBeautifulPinayfor2012 trended on Twitter following the said announcement.

Angel Locsin, who topped the annual poll from 2006 to 2010, came in on second place with a total of 45,010 votes followed in third place by Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera who got 30,417 votes. Angel Locsin was awarded the Hall of Fame last year and was not included in the poll but Starmometer decided to bring back Angel this year due to existent public demand.

Rounding off the top 10 are Anne Curtis (#4), Sarah Geronimo (#5), last year’s winner Kim Chiu (#6), Jodi Sta. Maria (#7), Kristine Hermosa (#8), Toni Gonzaga (#9) and Shamcey Supsup (#10).

Come September 16, 2012, Sunday, from 10am to 7pm, ABS-CBN's The Filipino Channel (TFC), the largest Filipino content distribution company in the U.S., brings its biggest event for the whole family to Northern California's premier theme park, California's Great America.

This time, the most in-demand cast of the Philippines' number one teleserye, "Walang Hanggan" (No End) with Coco Martin, Julia Montes, Richard Gomez, Dawn Zulueta, Paulo Avelino, Joem Bascon and Melissa Ricks are coming to entertain and interact with thousands of their own fans and "Walang Hanggan" followers. Joining them are top comedienne-actress Pokwang, world-renowned singer Jed Madela and Pinoy Big Brother Unlimited 2012 winner Slater Young. 

Adding to the festivities are the FREE screenings of the box-office hit, "A Mother's Story" at California's Great America Theater and auditions for "The Voice Philippines" at Showtime Theater.

Walang Hanggan Controversial Stabbing Scene Wins TV Ratings

The controversial bloody fight scene between the characters of Coco Martin and Paulo Avelino in the phenomenal TV drama “Walang Hanggan” was the most watched program in the country last Wednesday (August 15). 

Based on the latest data of Kantar Media, the said episode where Nathan (Paulo) stabbed himself after a heated fistfight with half-brother Daniel (Coco) garnered a 37.8% national TV rating compared to its rival program in GMA “Luna Blanca” which only got 16.7%. 

“Walang Hanggan” is set to glue primetime viewers even more with the most-anticipated wedding of Emily (Dawn Zulueta) and Marco (Richard Gomez).
